Reminiscence

This was probably during finals week when he and I decided to procrastinate and take webcam pictures. Oh, how I miss this.
JIM: There are thirteen people working in this office. So thirteen times a year, Michael gets a cake and balloons and some sort of joke gift and makes a toast. There are two types of toasts. One is a joke about how old you are and the other is something inappropriate. Or horrible. Or both. What else…? He only sings the high harmony to “Happy Birthday.” And he’s a very big believer in surprise parties. Maybe even arguably, possibly to a fault.
The Office will forever be my favorite show. I miss Michael Scott.

Quaint moments

Walking back to the train with Jason after listening to an amazing sermon.
I must have forgotten how powerful and profound some novels can be. Thank you Bernhard Schlink. You have broken my reading hiatus and have found a part of me that I lost for a while. My only regret is that I discovered you so late.
“The tectonic layers of our lives rest so tightly one on top of the other that we always come up against earlier events in later ones, not as a matter that has been fully formed and pushed aside, but absolutely present and alive.”
-The Reader by Bernhard Schlink

The Artist

I have a new found admiration for silent films. Beautiful film with a pleasant twist.
Idealism vs. realism
Who ever said it’s too late to try?
“More people, more love, more light.”
I guess what I taking from this quote is a bit out of context, but whatever. It’s subjective!
HNY!
I’m a bit late but Happy New Year, everyone!
It’s surreal to me that it’s already 2012. 2011, you were a bit harsh to me. But because of you, I’m able to enter the new year with a rejuvenated optimism that I am hoping will not fade.
In hindsight, I think that the biggest lesson that 2011 taught me was that everything (relationships, work, exams, etc.) takes effort, and it’s important to understand that effort will never lead to anything meaningless.
2012, I have big hopes for you. Although I’ll be a year older, a year wrinklier, and a year closer to turning 30, I’m still happy that you’re here.
